Stony Brook, New York, United States NES Fircroft Full time

We are seeking a Chemical Process Engineer with expertise in nitric acid systems to join our dynamic team. Located in Stony Brook, NY, this permanent opportunity offers a competitive annual compensation package, including an estimated salary of $100,000-$120,000 per year.

About Our Client

Our client is a cutting-edge biotech start-up dedicated to revolutionizing the sustainable upcycling of food and agricultural waste through their innovative Nitric Oxide Process (NOP). They transform these materials into high-demand products like nutrient-rich fertilizers and Cellulose Nanofiber (CNF).

As a member of our team, you will work closely with our R&D teams, CTO, CEO, and development partners to design, build, test, and optimize systems that process a diverse range of feedstocks tailored to specific customer applications.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the R&D team to draft, design, and update engineering documentation, building, testing, and operating pilot-scale systems, and ensuring precision and quality in every build for every client.

We require a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CAD modeling and drafting, preferably with SolidWorks, and familiarity with chemical, mechanical, and electrical manufacturing equipment. Experience with PLC programming is beneficial but not mandatory.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking company that puts culture and people at the forefront of their business. If you are a resourceful, hands-on engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a knack for building or fixing anything, we encourage you to apply.
