Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Radiology Department team as a Patient Care Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient flow through the department, ensuring efficient and timely processing of exams and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, exam preparation, and procedure execution.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records and reports, utilizing hospital computer systems such as Imagecast and Cerner EWS.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within the department.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in using electronic medical records and other hospital software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Radiology experience, preferably in an academic medical center.
  • Familiarity with hospital computer systems, including Imagecast and Cerner EWS.
  • Knowledge of insurance and managed care requirements, as well as regulatory guidelines for patient care.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $48,000 - $60,000 per year, based on relevant experience and qualifications. This includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Selection Process
  • Able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen and meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
