Position Summary: The Press Assistant Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the Press Operator and Lead Press Operator with the fundamental setup and upkeep of printing presses. This includes verifying the correct paper sizes and types, as well as ensuring that all presses are adequately supplied with the necessary quantities of paper and other materials.

Work Schedule: This position operates on the second shift, Monday through Friday, with a typical duration of eight or more hours per day, contingent on business requirements. The primary working hours will be from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, or similar. Training may be conducted at alternative times.

Compensation: Hourly wage ranges from $21.00 to $23.00, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify paper sheet sizes and types, ensuring all materials are correct.
  • Assist in preparing for upcoming printing jobs.
  • Support press maintenance and cleaning activities.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Press Operator to ensure smooth press operations.
  • Actively manage waste materials for recycling purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Ensure all equipment and workstations are in optimal condition and free from safety hazards.
  • Promptly report any workplace hazards to management.
  • Utilize all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Immediately report any work-related injuries or near misses to management.
  • Keep work areas compliant with housekeeping standards.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Participate in all departmental and company meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Sheet Fed Press Operator (preferably with Komori).

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
