The Bindery Production Assistant is a key member of our production team, responsible for assisting the Bindery Operator with the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of bindery equipment to produce high-quality finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Verify paper sheet size, type, and materials required for production
- Assist with managing the preparation of next jobs to be printed
- Perform press maintenance tasks and cleaning
- Support the Lead Press Operator by completing tasks as directed to keep the press running
- Remove waste items for recycling and maintain a clean work environment
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documents
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are in good working order and free of safety hazards
- Report workplace hazards to management immediately
- Wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
- Keep all work areas and stations in compliance with our housekeeping guidelines
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, including sweeping floors and removing debris
- Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
- Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Attend all department and company meetings
- 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred
