Position Summary: The Bindery Production Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Bindery Operator with the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of various bindery machinery, including MBO folders equipped with pile and continuous feeders, Heidelberg/Stahl Folders with continuous feeders, and 6 pocket Muller Martini-Presto saddle stitchers. The goal is to produce high-quality finished products that align with customer specifications and quality standards.
Work Schedule: This position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, requiring eight or more hours per day based on business demands. The primary working hours are typically from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with training possibly occurring at different times.
Compensation: The hourly wage ranges from $18.00 to $20.00, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify paper sheet size/type and confirm necessary materials.
- Assist in preparing for upcoming print jobs.
- Support press maintenance and cleaning tasks.
- Collaborate with the Lead Press Operator to ensure efficient press operation.
- Proactively remove waste for recycling.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Ensure all equipment and workstations are in optimal condition and free from safety hazards.
- Immediately report any workplace hazards to management.
- Utilize assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Promptly report any work-related injuries, illnesses, or near misses.
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance with housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to foster a safe working environment.
- Participate in all departmental and company meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing setting.
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
