Position Overview:
SAIC is seeking a Logistics Management Specialist to provide support for the US Navy.

Role Responsibilities:
The candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Airborne Crew Served Weapons for the NAVAIR Crew Served Weapons In-Service Engineering Activity.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring maintenance of crew served weapons and mounts in line with NAVAIR technical publications.
  • Assessing Conventional Ordnance Discrepancy Reports (CODRs) and offering guidance on disposition.
  • Reviewing Technical Publication Deficiency Reports (TPDRs) and identifying necessary changes to technical manuals.
  • Creating, reviewing, and validating maintenance procedures for crew served weapons and mounts.
  • Formulating and validating NATOPs flight procedures for weapon system checklists.
  • Conducting live fire tests and evaluations on small arms weapon systems ranging from 7.62mm to .50 caliber.

Additionally, the role involves:

  • Evaluating Engineering Change Proposals for updates to logistics documentation, including technical manuals and maintenance plans.
  • Assisting in the management of inventory for repair parts related to crew served weapons and mounts.
  • Building kits, receiving and stocking materials, and preparing items for shipment.
  • Developing training curricula for maintenance and operation of mounts and weapon systems.
  • Providing training to fleet end users.
Qualifications:

Required Experience and Clearance:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.
An interim secret clearance is necessary to commence work, with the potential to obtain a Secret security clearance sponsored by SAIC.
US Citizenship is mandatory.

Experience in Navy/Marine aviation weapon system maintenance is essential. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Military Occupational Specialties qualifications: 6173, 6174, 6176, 6531, or Navy Rating AO.
  • Experience in developing training materials or maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in training related to the utilization and maintenance of crew served weapons and mounts.
  • Proficiency in conveying technical instructions clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in writing and evaluating NATOPs flight procedures.

Additional skills include:

  • Experience in maintenance of crew served weapons utilized by Navy and Marine airborne platforms.
  • Ability to engage with senior leadership on crew served weapons topics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Capability to pass the Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) screening process.
  • Ability to obtain explosive handling certification.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height and travel up to 10% of the time.
Desired Experience:
  • Explosive handling certification.
  • Fork truck operator's license.
