Position Overview:
SAIC is seeking a Logistics Management Specialist to provide critical support to the US Navy.

Role Responsibilities:
The candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Airborne Crew Served Weapons for the NAVAIR Crew Served Weapons In-Service Engineering Activity.

In this capacity, the individual will deliver expert guidance on the standard operating procedures utilized by Navy and Marine Corps personnel.

Key Duties Include:
  • Ensuring maintenance of crew served weapons and mounts in line with relevant NAVAIR technical publications.
  • Assessing Conventional Ordnance Discrepancy Reports (CODRs) and offering disposition guidance.
  • Reviewing Technical Publication Deficiency Reports (TPDRs) and determining necessary changes to technical manuals.
  • Creating, reviewing, and validating maintenance protocols for crew served weapons and mounts.
  • Formulating and validating NATOPs flight procedures for weapon system checklists.
  • Conducting live fire tests and evaluations on small arms weapon systems ranging from 7.62mm to .50 caliber.

Additionally, the candidate will:
Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals to ensure accuracy in logistics documentation, including technical manuals and maintenance plans.
Assist in managing inventory for repair parts related to crew served weapons and mounts.
Prepare material for shipment and build kits as necessary.
Develop training curricula for maintenance and operation of mounts and weapon systems.
Provide training to fleet end users.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for educational qualifications.
  • Interim secret clearance is required to commence, with the potential to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Experience in the maintenance of Navy/Marine aviation weapon systems is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in one of the following Military Occupational Specialties: 6173, 6174, 6176, 6531, or Navy Rating AO.
Experience in developing training materials or maintenance procedures is highly desirable.
Proficiency in delivering training on the use and maintenance of crew served weapons and mounts is advantageous.
Ability to communicate technical instructions clearly and effectively is crucial.

Experience in writing, training, and evaluating NATOPs flight procedures is beneficial.
Hands-on experience with maintenance on crew served weapons and mounts used by Navy and Marine Corps on airborne platforms such as the UH-1, CH-53, V-22, and MH-60 is preferred.

Additional Skills:
Capability to engage with senior leadership on crew served weapons topics in a professional manner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
Ability to pass the Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) screening process and obtain explosive handling certification is necessary.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height and travel up to 10% of the time.
