I. POSITION OVERVIEW

Department: Base Supply Center

Reports to: Store Manager

II. OBJECTIVE

To support the management of the overall operations of the Base Supply store.

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees a team of up to ten customer service representatives, including individuals with visual impairments.

IV. COMMUNICATIONS

Engages with vendors, supply chain managers, and other staff members.

V. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION

Intermittent supervision, with established weekly objectives and monthly performance evaluations.

  1. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma, complemented by two years of relevant training.
  • SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Proficient in negotiating pricing and delivery terms with both established and new suppliers. Strong analytical abilities, including problem-solving, decision-making, and financial analysis.

VIII. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

The ideal candidate would be a recently retired or separated military or civil service member, possessing extensive knowledge of DOD logistics systems, including warehouse operations, or significant retail management experience in sales or marketing. Forklift operation experience is advantageous.

IX. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

No travel is required.
  1. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for all facets of daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Customer service, recognition, and interaction are essential components of this role.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, sales reconciliation, delivery coordination, visual merchandising, personnel management, and maintaining cleanliness.
  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands.
