Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to enhance the Mannik Smith Group team.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive structural calculations and generate engineering drawings for various projects related to bridge and transportation structures, including both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build methodologies.

Conduct and oversee engineering alternative investigations through meticulous data collection and analysis, performing calculations, and evaluating different solutions.

Prepare detailed technical reports.
Assist during the construction phase of projects, addressing RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and providing problem-solving support.
Mentor and guide junior engineers.

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer.
Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience post-registration.

Over 10 years of relevant experience in bridge design and plans production, including but not limited to reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed/post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation-related structures.

Proficient in using various bridge design software such as FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and the FDOT suite of MathCAD analysis worksheets.

Expertise in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD, and/or CADD platforms for producing transportation structure designs and plans.
Capability to perform 3D modeling in OpenBridge Modeler is advantageous.
Familiarity with the structural/bridge design process in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

Ability to mentor junior staff while participating in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale multi-discipline bridge projects of varying technical complexity.

Experience in construction specialty engineering is a plus.
Knowledge of post-tensioning applications is beneficial.
Experience with straddle bent design is an advantage.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Demonstrated sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines.
Detail-oriented team player with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (MSE/MSCE) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
PE and/or SE certification in Florida or the ability to obtain Florida Registration.
Familiarity with the structural/bridge design process through the application of the FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications.
