Position Title: Commercial Chiller Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on central plant equipment, including chillers of 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform overhauls on centrifugal chillers as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in rigging operations.
  • Assist the office in recommending repairs from initiation to completion.
  • Be available for emergency service calls on a scheduled rotation.
  • Execute end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Plan and oversee site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant systems.
  • Carry out daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks within the scheduled month.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all on-site equipment.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on customer-related opportunities or issues.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level, complemented by technical education.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial air conditioning is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of chillers, HVAC systems, and central plant operations.
  • Field experience with large tonnage HVAC systems is required.
  • Availability for emergency service calls on a scheduled rotation is necessary.
  • Must possess EPA certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
