Position Title: Commercial Chiller Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on central plant equipment, including chillers of 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Overhaul centrifugal chillers as needed.
  • Utilize rigging techniques for equipment handling.
  • Assist the office with recommended repairs from initiation to completion.
  • Be available for emergency service calls on a rotational basis.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning of systems.
  • Schedule and oversee site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
  • Execute daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all related equipment.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks within the scheduled timeframe.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all on-site equipment.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on customer opportunities and issues.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level along with relevant technical education.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial air conditioning is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of chillers, HVAC systems, and central plants.
  • Field knowledge of large tonnage HVAC systems is required.
  • Availability for emergency service calls on a rotational basis.
  • Must hold EPA certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
