Job Overview

Position: Logistics Operations Supervisor

The Logistics Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in providing leadership, guidance, and clear communication regarding the expectations and objectives for shipping and receiving operations at NextPhase Medical Devices LLC. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely, consistent, and quality receipt of goods, as well as the packaging and shipment of products according to customer specifications. The department also maintains comprehensive records of all products shipped and received while adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee timely and consistent receipt, packaging, and dispatch of materials and projects in alignment with customer specifications and SOPs.
  • Oversee the shipping and receiving operations, ensuring successful execution of all related duties.
  • Act as both Shipper/Receiver and Team Leader, performing necessary shipping and receiving tasks and related warehouse activities.
  • Coordinate carrier pick-ups according to customer purchase order requirements and shipping instructions.
  • Complete bills of lading and other necessary documentation for freight carriers.
  • Provide motivational leadership and direction to team members to achieve goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost while fostering teamwork.
  • Offer support, training, and guidance to direct reports, emphasizing accountability.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing, communicating, and maintaining performance metrics to track progress toward objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with training and adherence to SOPs and Assembly Procedures (APs) across all operations.
  • Supervise the activities of assigned departments to ensure efficiency.
  • Schedule operations to prevent delays and optimize labor utilization.
  • Identify and address training needs for team members.
  • Evaluate and manage team performance effectively.
  • Conduct timely annual performance reviews for team members.
  • Propose methods to streamline shipping and receiving processes.
  • Support cross-training initiatives among warehouse team members to enhance flexibility in response to customer demand changes.
  • Collaborate with other Team Leaders to ensure all customer commitments are fulfilled and labor resources are effectively managed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a shipping environment or in a leadership capacity.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems; experience with IQMS is a plus.
  • Core work hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required to meet customer needs.
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experience with UPS/FedEx software is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate forklifts or handcarts to transport shipments from the shipping platform to storage or work areas.
