Paradigm is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring multi-state payroll tax compliance and general ledger accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multi-State Payroll Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of payroll tax and withholding payments in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records within our HRIS system, ensuring accurate departmental information sharing.
  • Payroll Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate quarter-end and year-end payroll and unemployment reporting requirements for all required federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Payroll Audit Support: Provide all payroll-related documents during annual audits, coordinating with HR personnel as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Process (SOP) documentation for payroll duties and assist with payroll-wide SOP documents.
  • System Updates: Understand the process and potential implications of system, internal, and external updates and interfaces, including benefits, update uploads, and functionality.
  • Employee Data Accuracy: Ensure full employee data accuracy throughout multiple company systems.
  • Customer Service: Provide timely and accurate customer service to internal and external customers with questions and/or requests.

Requirements:

  • HRIS Payroll Systems: Working knowledge of HRIS payroll systems, online preferred (Dayforce experience helpful).
  • Multi-State Payroll Tax Experience: Five+ years of multi-state payroll tax and general ledger experience.
  • Accounting Principles: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and Microsoft Office, especially Excel/related processes.
  • Technical Environment: Ability to function in an advanced technical environment from an office/home/hybrid setting.
  • Communication Skills: Highly organized and excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving, creative thinking, and customer service skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Capability to interact and effectively communicate with internal and external parties, including in a leadership capacity.
