Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The Electronics Assembly Specialist will support a wide range of projects at Teksky. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacture of existing product lines, assembly of Ground System Equipment, prototype unit manufacture, and maintenance of lab equipment. This position offers ample opportunity for growth as you expand your skillset and become more familiar with company products and processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • This position requires a combination of general curiosity and technical capabilities.
  • Experience with soldering or soldering workstations is necessary.
  • Familiarity with CCA surface mount SMT soldering 0402 and larger components ICs resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets and "through hole" components, such as transformers, connectors.
  • Ability to perform installation, soldering, and inspection operations under microscope and other magnifying devices.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, policies, and regulations is essential.
  • Use of various hand and power tools, such as crimpers, soldering irons, and wire strippers.
  • Collaboration with engineering and quality control teams to address any assembly or design issues.
  • Following all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Working among a team of individuals assembling products for our customers.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office tools (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Requirements:

  • Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies.
  • Experience and interest in mechanical assembly (hobbies, auto projects, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain and follow processes and procedures.
  • Ability to sit and operate at a workstation (soldering iron, microscopes, etc.) for long periods (e.g., up to 10-hour shifts).
  • This position will be 1st shift with core hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Flexibility with these hours may be discussed as long as they substantially overlap.
  • Occasional support of overtime and weekend work may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Space hardware experience is a plus.
  • 0 to 3 years of technician work experience.
  • Experience in J-STD-001 and other IPC standards such as IPC-A-610B (Class 3), and/or NASA/JPL certifications.
