About the Position:

The Commonwealth of Virginia's Access & Resource Management (ARM) division is seeking an E-Resources Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Resource Acquisition Department, this individual will be responsible for providing acquisition management and coordination of the library's resources, especially in electronic format.

The E-Resources Specialist will manage the entire complex order and access cycles for electronic materials, from request to ensuring accurate, up-to-date access for faculty and students. They will maintain and update various databases, library systems, and other applications used in e-resource management.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with library services platforms, discovery and access systems, and electronic resources management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the order cycle for assigned electronic resources, from various suppliers, including new and renewing orders.
  • Perform routine, non-routine, complex, and specialized duties related to e-resource acquisition and management.
  • Track orders through activation processes, including account administration and registration.
  • Place orders and renewals with vendors to ensure access is maintained.
  • Acquire and batch load MARC catalog records for purchased and licensed electronic resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Library work experience.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience meeting deadlines and managing deliverables.
  • Experience collaborating across departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Library work experience in library acquisitions, electronic resource management, or collection development.
