Job Overview

The General Manager serves as the primary strategic leader of the property, overseeing all operational facets to ensure exceptional guest and employee satisfaction, robust financial performance, and effective sales and revenue generation.

This role guarantees the execution of the brand's service strategy and initiatives, aiming to surpass guest expectations while enhancing profitability and market share.

The General Manager holds the leadership team accountable for executing strategies and supports their professional growth.

Additionally, this position ensures the effective utilization of sales engines and initiates proactive sales activities to drive demand.

It is essential to align the objectives of the brand with those of property ownership, fostering owner loyalty through proactive communication and solid business outcomes.

The General Manager actively engages with the local community, building strong relationships with officials, businesses, and customers, while embodying the values of the brand in all leadership actions.


Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience.

OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field with 6 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a General Manager in a full-service or limited-service property.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated career progression in the property industry with a record of exceptional performance.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development

Stay informed on industry trends and competitive strengths and weaknesses; explore new business opportunities; develop business plans that enhance customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share; ensure alignment of property business plans with brand strategies.

Execution of Business Strategies

Implement business plans to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability; ensure alignment of property plans with brand strategies; hold the leadership team accountable for successful execution of business plans; experiment with innovative ideas to enhance guest satisfaction.

Sales and Marketing Collaboration

Work closely with the Sales and Marketing team to create revenue-generating strategies; identify new business leads and develop tailored approaches; ensure alignment of sales strategies with brand goals.

Talent Management

Build a cohesive Executive Committee focused on positive results; provide coaching and feedback; create development opportunities for employees; ensure succession planning for future openings.

Brand Advocacy

Act as a passionate advocate for the brand, ensuring that brand values are reflected in the guest experience; communicate brand goals clearly to employees and owners.

Business Analysis

Review business data such as market share and financial performance; analyze information to address market changes and ensure budget compliance; integrate insights into business plans.

Employee Relations

Ensure fair treatment of all employees; foster open communication; celebrate employee successes; collaborate with HR to enhance engagement.

Revenue Strategy Development

Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to create effective pricing strategies; ensure demand forecasting is in place to maximize yield.

Owner Relations

Build strong relationships with property owners through ongoing communication; provide performance analysis and balance owner and brand interests.

Public Relations Management

Engage with guests to gather feedback; utilize insights to improve service delivery; promote a positive brand image in the community.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and brand standards; conduct quality assurance audits and maintain high standards in property management.
