Patient Support Specialist

Position Objective:
The role of the Patient Navigator is to deliver extensive assistance to clients by recognizing their requirements and guiding them through the appropriate administrative frameworks and patient support services. This position entails warmly welcoming patients and providing support in waiting areas, ensuring a smooth and positive experience. Furthermore, the Navigator will proactively address any inquiries or concerns from patients, fostering an environment of comfort and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all clients, visitors, and members of the public with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Engage in meaningful dialogues with clients and visitors to ascertain their informational needs.
- Assist clients from various cultural backgrounds, helping them understand the healthcare system regarding service access and limitations.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with clients and the healthcare team to ensure a coordinated experience.
- Act as a crucial link between clients and medical staff, facilitating smooth interactions and information sharing.
- Coordinate the flow of updates and changes from front and back office staff to ensure accurate and timely information dissemination.
- Support clients in completing necessary documentation, streamlining administrative processes for improved efficiency.
- Provide comprehensive information on available services and promote health awareness among clients.
- Educate clients about their benefits, including health coverage programs, and refer them to Enrollment Specialists for eligibility assessments.
- Represent the clinic in matters related to healthcare service delivery, collaborating closely with the Clinic Administrator.
- Work with the outreach team to welcome and assist new clients, actively participating in the intake process.
- Engage in community outreach efforts to enhance the clinic's impact and accessibility.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate records for incentive programs.
- Facilitate patient transportation from local healthcare facilities to the clinic using public transportation.
- Participate in general staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to the clinic's collective goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in effectively engaging with clients and collaborating with diverse staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear interactions.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
- Flexibility and ability to travel between various locations as required.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams to foster a patient-centered care environment.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in client support or community service roles.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet community and client needs.
