Job Title: Warehouse Clerk

Job Overview:

The Warehouse Clerk plays a key role in the organization and management of warehouse operations, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process incoming shipments, including verifying quantities, inspecting for damages, and matching delivery notes with purchase orders.
  • Assist with the preparation, packing, and labeling of outgoing orders for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including updating stock levels and tracking item movements.
  • Perform regular stock counts, assist with inventory audits, and report discrepancies to management.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, as needed.
  • Coordinate with carriers or delivery services to schedule pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Ensure all warehouse documents, including shipment records, packing lists, and inventory reports, are properly filed and maintained.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse by ensuring items are properly stored and aisles are clear.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to resolve issues related to shipments or inventory.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse safety standards by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or clerical role is preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse management software or inventory control systems is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (as required by the job).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Forklift certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily warehouse-based, involving manual labor such as lifting, packing, and organizing goods.
  • May involve operating machinery, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Requires physical stamina, including standing, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Exposure to a warehouse environment, which may include noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
