About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL. As a key member of our Building & Places organization, you will provide expertise in Buildings, Facilities, and Site practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of project development, from identification to conceptual and final designs, and provide support during construction.
  • Lead electrical engineering efforts on various building and site projects, including mid-to-large size projects.
  • Organize workload, work independently on project-specific design tasks, and lead project staff.
  • Communicate and present with clients, discussing technical solutions to project conditions.
  • Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Provide technical input to studies and design assessments, benefiting clients and teams.
  • Coordinate scope, schedule, and budget with project managers and senior team members.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit as working platforms for delivering design.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff on technical design aspects and professional services.
  • Provide direction on prescriptive and performance-based specifications.
  • Participate in developing technical proposals, including estimates for engineering budgets and schedules.
  • Review permitting agency and engineering standards, developing proper project design and permitting applications.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including civil, building engineering, architecture, geotechnical, traffic engineers, Federal teams, landscape architects, and surveyors.
  • Support site field investigations and construction-related activities.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Engineering, plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
  • Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida (current FL PE License).
  • Demonstrated experience working on building and facility design projects.
  • Previous experience preparing calculations and design documents (reports, plans, specifications).
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with industry software for electrical and lighting design and calculations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, clients, and teams.
  • Valid US Driver's License, with a passing AECOM Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • US Citizenship required.
