Tri-State Forest Products is seeking a skilled Engineered Wood Products Designer to join our team in Springfield, OH.

As a leading wholesale building materials distributor in the Mid-West, we specialize in engineered wood products and are looking for a talented individual to help us continue to grow and succeed.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing residential and light commercial engineered wood floor and roof systems, working closely with our retail lumber dealers and builders. This is a full-time position that requires strong math skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design engineered wood products, including I-joist, wood beams, and connectors, into residential and commercial blueprints.
  • Provide customer support and answer questions about personal designs and/or other team member designs.
  • Identify and recommend the best products to customers for their specific job application.
  • Utilize provided design software to interpret residential and commercial blueprints into structural placement estimate plans.
  • Respond to customer and associate inquiries as needed to sell, train, and support engineered wood products.
