Position Summary
The Accounting Instructor, under the guidance of the Campus Director, plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional educational experiences to students enrolled in the accounting program. This position encompasses the creation of educational materials, instruction on accounting methodologies, evaluation of student progress, and ensuring the curriculum aligns with industry benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction and Curriculum Design:
    Conduct dynamic and impactful lectures, interactive training sessions, and practical workshops covering essential topics such as bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll management, accounts receivable/payable, and accounting software applications.
  • Revise and enhance curriculum to maintain relevance with contemporary industry practices and standards.
  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that promote student engagement and skill acquisition.
  • Student Evaluation and Support:
    Assess student understanding through various evaluation methods including exams, quizzes, projects, and practical applications.
  • Provide insightful feedback to foster student growth and development.
  • Offer additional tutoring services to bolster student performance.
  • Guide students academically to help them reach their educational and career aspirations.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare students for recognized industry certifications.
  • Professional Development:
    Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching capabilities and stay informed about advancements in the accounting field.
  • Participate in workshops, conferences, and seminars to remain current with industry trends.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and progress.
  • Contribute to faculty meetings, curriculum reviews, and departmental initiatives.
  • Assist in student recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Community and Industry Relations:
    Build and sustain partnerships with accounting and finance professionals and organizations.
  • Coordinate externship opportunities to provide students with practical experience.
  • Advocate for the program and its advantages to potential students and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • QuickBooks certification is mandatory, along with certification in Microsoft Office Excel or a commitment to obtain it shortly after employment.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping techniques, financial reporting, and accounting software.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.

Work Environment

  • This role typically involves working in a classroom or laboratory setting.
  • Occasional travel may be required for professional development purposes.
