Job Overview

The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily functions of the distribution center by effectively leading Warehouse Supervisors, Leads, Drivers, and Warehouse Staff, while collaborating with Amtrak personnel. As a key figure in the operational leadership, the Warehouse Manager develops and executes strategies to meet the objectives of both the Company and its client, Amtrak.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for supervising Warehouse Supervisors and personnel to ensure operational excellence in line with established business process compliance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Guarantees that daily operations are executed as planned.
  • Assists the Assistant General Manager in resolving issues, assessing the effectiveness of operations, and recommending improvements for work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing to ensure accurate and timely movement and processing of goods; manages to optimize warehouse layout for maximum efficiency.
  • Mentors, trains, and develops Warehouse Supervisors to enhance performance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and counseling of staff to provide continuous support and development. Utilizes leadership skills to establish goals for frontline teams and offers regular performance feedback through various management resources, including observational assessments.
  • Oversees hourly employees to ensure adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Disciplinary Guidelines/Work Rules, and Attendance Policy.
  • Exemplifies, leads, and promotes a culture of safety and recognition, along with all key initiatives related to core values, to foster a positive work environment within the Commissary. Ensures full implementation of Aramark Safety Programs and compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in leading an operations team.
  • Experience in customer service leadership, foodservice or route sales operations, performance management, and training and development of frontline managers/personnel is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be capable of obtaining DOT certification for operating DOT-regulated vehicles.
  • Strong client interaction, communication, organizational/time management, multitasking, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer skills are essential for success in this role.
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently is also crucial.
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures and experience in handling perishable products is required.
  • Industry experience should include vending, food service, route distribution (e.g., uniform distribution or customer products), and retail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts in a 24/7 operational environment is necessary.
