About the Role

As a Journeyman with Carrier, you will play a critical part in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. Your expertise in Commercial HVAC will be essential in handling a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. This role offers opportunities to work independently and as part of a team, highlighting your ability to collaborate and make informed decisions on the job.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions, providing recommendations for resolution
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance
  • Install, replace, or repair equipment, including calibration of thermostatic controls and repair or replacement of worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork, ensuring precise fit and secure connections
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems, providing estimates of materials required
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment, ensuring prompt resolution of issues
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams to inform work
  • Stay up-to-date with City, State, and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of work
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives, providing exceptional service and support
  • Operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Identify and mitigate risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, collaborating with management to maintain safe working environments
  • Escalate or elevate situations requiring guidance or additional support to Supervisor or Manager
  • Participate in all required safety training and maintain state or national required licensing
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience and qualities that would be beneficial in this role include:
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus
Pay and Benefits

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $58.65 and a range of benefits, including payment for all travel time incurred and an on-call schedule that promotes better work-life balance.
