About the Opportunity

The Legislative Policy and Research Committee is seeking two graduate students to participate in an exciting internship program for the 2025 Legislative Session. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the legislative process in Oregon and gain hands-on experience in committee organization and administration, bill management, research, communication, and other internal LPRO projects.

About the Office

The Legislative Policy and Research Office (LPRO) is committed to providing professional nonpartisan staffing, analysis, and research that supports and informs the policymaking process. Our mission is to ensure that Oregon's legislature has access to relevant and timely information on public policy issues of interest to the state.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position will be familiar with Oregon's state government structure, eager to learn, and interested in pursuing a career in public policy. They will enjoy working with people, be flexible and nimble in the face of change, and be able to serve people with different perspectives and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible for this internship, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (four-year college or university) and be a current graduate student of a Master's, Ph.D., J.D., or professional program in public policy, public administration, law, or a related field.

Other Requirements

Strong desire to learn the legislative process through hands-on experience and knowledge of one or more public policy issue areas relevant to Oregon, Oregon's governance structure, and computer applications, including the Microsoft suite.
