Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and support to a variety of complex patients, under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Assist with patient-related tasks, such as vital sign checks and phlebotomy, as needed.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Take initiative to improve job performance and contribute to the development of new opportunities.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care for patients.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program, or equivalent medical background experience.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Strong sense of accountability for improving patient lives and caregivers.
- Exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and passion for delivering high-quality care and service.
- Experience or certification in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar.
- At least one year of PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting, or eligibility for the HMH PCT apprentice program.
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician with successful completion of a PCT program, including Phlebotomy, EKG, and nursing assistant courses.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required within 60 days of hire.
