As a Patient Care Technician in our Float Pool, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care, promoting patient satisfaction, comfort, and safety under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Assist with various patient, unit, and environment-related tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and contribute to the development of a culture of safety within our organization.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and seamless care transitions.
- Take initiative to improve job performance and create new opportunities for growth and development.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program, or equivalent medical background experience.
- The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
- A strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers.
- An exceptional focus on teamwork and dedication to ongoing education.
We're looking for candidates with:
- Experience or certification in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar.
- At least one year of PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting, or eligibility for the HMH PCT apprentice program.
