STARLINK ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

As a Starlink Systems Technician, your role will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including the assembly, testing, integration, and maintenance of Starlink Enterprise solutions. This team will concentrate on mobility, terrestrial systems, commercial offerings, and testing apparatus. You will collaborate closely with design and certification engineers from Starlink Enterprise, as well as FAA and other enterprise collaborators. SpaceX is committed to connecting a broad spectrum of clients globally, spanning aviation, marine, mobile sectors, and beyond. In this capacity, you will be directly engaged and hands-on in achieving this mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install and maintain Starlink products across all enterprise systems (aviation, maritime, automotive, rail, terrestrial systems) adhering to stringent FAA, Warp, and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct, gather, and report data from various tests, including but not limited to vibration, shock, thermal, RF, load, and any additional testing necessary to fulfill FAA certification criteria.
  • Document testing procedures utilizing Test Plan, TestX, and Warp related functionalities.
  • Execute mechanical and electrical assembly, activation of mission-specific development, and continuous-integration testing systems for all Starlink enterprise platforms.
  • Travel to remote locations to gather precise measurements of mechanical, structural, and electrical components, as well as perform installations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting hardware issues in real-time and provide insights to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with development and design engineers, machine shops, and external partners on a variety of projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience working with aircraft or aviation-related hardware.
  • 1+ year of experience in an electrical or mechanical testing environment or performing electrical or mechanical installations.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A&P certification.
  • Associate's degree.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret controlled documentation and processes such as cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
  • Hands-on experience in installation work on aircraft.
  • Hands-on experience in fabricating harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, and testing stations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to permanently correcting errors.
  • Experience with electromechanical build processes including soldering, wire crimping and stripping, machine and hand drilling, shaping, cutting, and joining; 3D plastic printing.
  • Familiarity with electrical debugging tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Experience in various software environments, applications, and languages including Linux, Windows, Microsoft Office, git, SVN, JIRA, Altium, Mentor PCB, NX, Bash, and Python.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 25% travel may be necessary for this position.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required.
  • Physical demands include standing for long periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Starlink Enterprise Systems Technician/Level 1: $29.00/hour
Starlink Enterprise Systems Technician/Level 2: $34.50/hour
Starlink Enterprise Systems Technician/Level 3: $40.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one component of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, such as company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, along with potential discretionary bonuses and the opportunity to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays annually.
