Lead Controls Engineer

About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Controls Engineer to join our team at Carrier. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing advanced building automation systems for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop complex building automation systems, including site-specific configuration and control algorithms.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to project requirements, company standards, and customer specifications.
Develop clear and concise design documents for project teams, including technical information and system diagrams.
Document and communicate system design and revisions to stakeholders.
Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.
Test and validate programming and interfaces prior to implementation.
Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customer needs are met.
Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.
Support functional testing for complex building systems.
Perform jobsite visits as necessary to provide project support.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
4+ years of experience in HVAC controls or building automation.
Valid and current driver's license.
Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and lift items up to 50lbs.
Willingness to travel 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience in HVAC controls or building automation, or Associate degree with 6+ years of experience, or High School diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of experience.
Advanced degree in an engineering or construction discipline.
Proficient with primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools, including Automated Logic suites.
Strong working knowledge of complex Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services.
Proficient with third-party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc.
Understanding of enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio or similar software.
Proficient with written sequences of operations and diagrammatic depictions of systems.
Able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
