Position Title: Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EIC) Technician

Job Overview:

The Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technician (EIC) plays a crucial role in providing leadership for the functional maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within the plant operations. This position is integral to the production team, working closely with the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement safe practices during maintenance, installation, modifications, and calibrations of all operational equipment.
  • Assist in system start-up and operational verification, including configuration, wiring, calibration, and power testing.
  • Offer hardware and software application support to engineers, maintenance personnel, and operational staff.
  • Contribute significantly to major technological initiatives within the organization, whether as an individual contributor or as part of a team.
  • Utilize technical documentation such as equipment manuals, system schematics, P&IDs, and blueprints to diagnose and repair complex electrical and control systems. Interpret industry standards and specifications.
  • Oversee the installation of buildings and equipment to enhance manufacturing performance.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and procedures essential for production operations, improvements, and new product development.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, and equipment manuals for all tasks.
  • Diagnose and perform corrective maintenance on process equipment and control elements, including electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and more.
  • Support engineering efforts in the modification, installation, and start-up of both new and existing instrumentation and control systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair services for electrical supply and distribution systems up to 480v AC, including variable frequency drives and motors.
  • Document all calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities in detail.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production or operational roles.
  • At least 1 year of experience in batch, continuous, and discrete manufacturing, particularly in packaging lines.
  • Ability to work evening shifts.
  • Experience with AB PLCs, HMIs, and Cognex or Keyence Vision systems.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Process Excellence tools (Lean-6 Sigma).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
