Position Overview:

We are looking for seasoned cost analysts to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in developing should-cost models, have a comprehensive understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, and be adept at conducting thorough cost analyses. This role will primarily focus on creating cost intelligence tools, developing cost models, and performing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments to empower sourcing managers in strategic negotiations and inform design-related decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Should Cost Models for various products and components.
  • Create industry-leading cost intelligence models, tools, and best practices to enhance the hardware supply chain.
  • Extract actionable insights and summarize trends through meticulous cost data interpretation and research.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing Managers and suppliers to compile datasets for comprehensive cost analysis.
  • Establish benchmarking data related to costs—historical, competitive, and market—and assess the impact of design changes on supplier costs and value drivers.
  • Utilize cost management techniques such as target costing, equipment lifecycle analysis, TCO benchmarking, and competitive bidding to support Sourcing Managers in validating and realizing cost savings.
  • Facilitate cost-related design workshops and work closely with engineering teams to influence product costs during the early phases of new product introductions.
  • Identify, document, and initiate resolutions for any cost data quality issues encountered during report and analysis development.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly business performance updates and related analyses, including managing and providing status reports to stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage projects to deliver tangible and measurable outcomes.

Performance Metrics:

Success in this role will be evaluated based on the quality and timeliness of cost analyses, completion of deliverables, and feedback from cross-functional teams.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in building should-cost models for diverse products and services.
  • Expertise in conducting detailed cost analyses and identifying key insights and opportunities.
  • Ability to create benchmarking data related to costs and understand supplier cost structures and value drivers.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial reports, price proposals, and technical data.
  • Exceptional documentation and record-keeping abilities.
  • Proficient leadership and mentoring skills to provide constructive feedback and support.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to procurement.
  • Extensive understanding of cost management principles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing dashboards or Excel models to meet tooling requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers to optimize designs for cost efficiency.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or Finance is preferred.
