Position Overview:
A Banquet Server plays a crucial role in the preparation and execution of all designated banquet events.

Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related sector is advantageous.
  • Must possess Alcohol Awareness Certification in accordance with state laws.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.
  • Capable of assessing and choosing among various options swiftly and accurately.
  • Ability to perform well in high-pressure and stressful environments.
  • Effective listening skills to understand and address concerns raised by guests and colleagues.
  • Proficient in handling financial data and basic arithmetic.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism under stress.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and staff in a welcoming and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to attendance standards as set by the organization, with schedules varying based on hotel needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag.
  • Follow all operational standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel practices.
  • Meet certification requirements relevant to the position, including Alcohol Awareness and Food Safety.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Perform preparatory tasks and side duties to ensure prompt and efficient guest service.
  • Understand and interpret the Banquet Event Order and be familiar with the menu for the assigned event.
  • Serve guests in accordance with the hotel's standards, ensuring a courteous and professional experience.
  • Address guest issues, complaints, and incidents, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Stay informed about current hotel policies and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable about emergency exits, fire extinguisher locations, and safety protocols.
  • Keep the banquet storage area organized and stocked with necessary supplies for food service.
  • Clear banquet areas post-event and ensure all equipment and supplies are properly stored and replenished.
  • Exhibit attentiveness, friendliness, and helpfulness towards guests, management, and fellow employees.
  • Understand the hotel's organizational structure and the functions of each department.
  • Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Participate in meetings as required by management.
