Senior Assistant General Counsel, Employment Law

As a Senior Assistant General Counsel, Employment Law, you will serve as an advisor and counselor to Human Resources and business managers on employment law issues. You will provide expert, principled, pragmatic, solution-focused, and commercially relevant employment law advice, leveraging your enterprise-level thinking and global perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, practical, and solution-focused legal advice to Human Resources teams, Employee Relations, business leaders, and other business partners on a variety of employment law issues.
- Partner in selecting and handling outside counsel for employment litigation and lead the process through resolution.
- Coordinate and supervise responses to administrative charges, demand letters, and other potential disputes against the company through negotiation or mediation.
- Assist in developing strategic plans for all employment-related matters, including policies, procedures, litigation, and pre-litigation matters.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and active state bar license in good standing, of at least one US State Bar and willingness to commit to membership in the Oregon State Bar.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in employment law in a law firm and/or in-house with an emphasis on labor and employment-related litigation, administrative proceedings, advice & counsel, and compliance issues.
- Excellent communication skills, able to influence at all levels and across functions in a complex matrix organization.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and with a demanding case workload, and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations.
