Job Summary

The Chief Development Officer is a key member of the Center for Employment Training (CET) leadership team, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fund development program to support the organization's initiatives. This includes planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of a strategic fund development plan to secure private and public funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fund development plan to achieve CET's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Research and identify potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Write and submit grant proposals, reports, and other fundraising documents to secure funding for CET's programs and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, funders, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with CET's leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Manage and track fundraising efforts, including budgeting, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain a database of donors, funders, and community partners.
  • Provide leadership and direction to CET's development team, including training and coaching on fundraising best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on philanthropic trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, and development, including experience in a non-profit or educational setting.
  • Proven track record of securing grants and funding for programs and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required. The successful candidate will be required to use a personal or company vehicle for CET business.
