Coal Handling Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cleaning operations on the coal conveyor system, including car dumpers, bunkers, runways, tripper room, belt decks, stacker-reclaimer, and tunnels.
- Perform various cleaning tasks around equipment, buildings, and the yard.
- Manage the loading, unloading, and handling of coal, materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Operate and maintain all coal yard-related machinery.
- Clean and lubricate all equipment, including conveyors, pumps, large motors, gearboxes, and rolling stock.
- Collect, identify, and transport coal samples as instructed.
- Inspect and test fire safety equipment, ensuring proper documentation of tests.
- Operate automotive machinery as required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Adhere to the company's safety protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Notify supervisors of any irregularities or abnormal conditions.
- Clear and tag equipment in the coal yard area.
- Assist in training fellow employees.
- Support team members as needed.
- Operate necessary equipment for cleaning tasks.
- Perform similar or less skilled tasks as required.
- Associate Degree in a technical or scientific discipline is preferred. Candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and relevant experience will also be considered.
- POSS/Mass Test certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude to work on diverse equipment.
- Work Schedule: 7 consecutive days of work followed by 7 consecutive days off. Shifts are 12 hours, either day or night.
- Must be safety-conscious, punctual, team-oriented, respectful, and self-motivated.
