About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Place Services Inc. in Canton, GA. As a key member of our estimating team, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the cost estimation of various projects and ensuring the accuracy of our bids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bid takeoff and proposal preparation
  • Following up on sub-contractor questions and concerns
  • Soliciting subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing
  • Assisting the estimator with instructions to bidders, bid form, and other bid solicitation information
  • Assisting in the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budget
  • Assisting the estimator in conceptual budgets based on minimal information
  • Reviewing general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics, and other exhibits
  • Ensuring the flow of project information is maintained and documented
  • Assisting in the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids
  • Assisting in maintaining and communicating data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs
Requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to catch small errors
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Proficient in estimating software, including electronic takeoff and measurement skills
  • Ability to read and understand project plans, specifications, and other construction documents
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of field personnel, employees, management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owners
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
