Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Location Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our facility, including staffing, membership, programs, events, and facility maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a positive and inclusive environment for all employees, members, and guests
  • Assist with reporting, meeting goals, and overseeing payroll and expenditures
  • Provide outstanding customer service and support to clients
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement, marketing strategies, and policy implementation
  • Manage retail operations, including inventory and new product implementation
  • Assist with staffing and scheduling, including hiring, performance reviews, and employee issues
  • Ensure staff is trained, knowledgeable, and able to support facility operations
  • Ensure facilities and equipment remain clean, functioning, and high-quality
  • Support incident reporting, safety reviews, and emergency situations
  • Stay up-to-date on climbing industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule with ability to work early mornings, nights, and holidays
  • 2+ years of climbing experience required
  • Ability to take initiative and make confident decisions with strong attention to detail
  • CPR/First aid certification a plus, CWI, AMGA, or similar certification highly desired
  • Approachable and energetic personality with ability to lead a team effectively
  • Experience with Google Suite preferred
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
