POSITION OVERVIEW
The Patient Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the dental office operates smoothly. Responsibilities include managing appointment schedules, entering patient information for billing, and communicating effectively and compassionately with patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet patients warmly and professionally
- Check-in patients, ensuring all necessary information is entered into the patient management system
- Collect co-payments and manage patient check-out
- Balance registers at the end of each day
- Effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Schedule appointments and confirm them with patients
- Address issues and escalate them to the Office Manager as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
- Reliable attendance with a commitment to punctuality
- Flexibility to accommodate business needs outside of regular hours
- Successful completion of a credit check
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
- Experience balancing financial registers
- Strong communication abilities
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient computer skills; familiarity with Eaglesoft and/or Denticon is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Previous experience in a dental front desk role is preferred but not mandatory
- Exemplary telephone etiquette and clear communication with patients and team members, both in person and over the phone
