Job Title: Supplier Management Associate

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Management Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Risk and Compliance department, you will play a critical role in developing and managing critical and high-risk relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier management, risk assessment, and compliance. You will be responsible for managing key strategic third-party vendor and business partner relationships, ensuring that the bank maintains an effective supplier management program in compliance with our Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage critical and high-risk relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with TPRM policy.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing and Procurement team to ensure vendor contracts have proper terms, SLAs, and protections.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements to streamline reporting workflows.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver best-in-class vendor management for our new digital bank.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years of supplier management experience, with a focus on risk assessment and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Coupa, Project Management, Reg W, 6 Sigma certification, and Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI.

What We Offer:

SMBC offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $131,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
