About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and living fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in our care
  • Supervise and assist individuals in daily living skills, such as food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and shopping
  • Plan and implement programs to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals
  • Transport individuals to and from day programs
  • Participate in community-based jobs, volunteer opportunities, and outings to promote socialization and skill-building

Requirements
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required
  • Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for individuals
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
