Job Description

The Site Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-centric approach to provide top-notch support to our business users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and monitor all IT systems and equipment, including desktops, laptops, servers, and network devices.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting services to resolve IT-related issues and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to plan, implement, and maintain computing, storage, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Perform operational system administration tasks, including user account management, backup operations, and monitoring.
  • Lead or participate in local/division system implementation projects and introduction of new technologies.
  • Manage SOX and DFAR compliance activities at the local sites and ensure adherence to Coherent IT policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • AA degree with an emphasis in Computer Technology or certification from a college or computer technical trade school.
  • Prefer BA in Information Systems.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide variety of software and hardware equipment.
  • Experience supporting various computer-based systems and equipment used in the manufacturing environment.
  • Administration and operation of local network infrastructure and associated servers.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Technologies and solutions preferred.
  • Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) is a plus.
  • Proficient with IT technologies, including networking, telecommunications, servers, security, and applications.
  • Knowledge of Windows desktops/workstations, Windows Server Operating Systems, Cisco networking, telecommunications tools, and Network Management Systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of CMMC, SOX, and DFAR compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with end-users and management.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities.
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision, including planning and prioritizing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds short distances with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, or crawl to reach low objects or tight spaces.

  • All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corporate EHS standards.
