Job Overview

Salary: $65,000-$70,000

As the Lead Accounting Operations Manager, you will oversee the entire Accounting Department, ensuring efficient bookkeeping practices and managing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective accounting procedures and policies.
  • Oversee funding processes and generate comprehensive financial reports.
  • Manage organizational and departmental budgets effectively.
  • Compile and analyze financial statements on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and senior management.
  • Reconcile and manage loans, lines of credit, and bank accounts.
  • Handle payroll processing accurately.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Forecast cash balances and assess organizational financial needs.
  • Record and manage asset depreciation.
  • Monitor and track debt activities.
  • Coordinate annual and internal audits.
  • Set financial objectives and guide the organization towards achieving them.
  • Assign projects and manage staff to ensure compliance and accuracy across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Department Managers to ensure budget adherence and make necessary revisions.
  • Create and maintain grant budgets for applications and existing funding.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive records of transactions.
  • Provide financial recommendations in line with GAAP guidelines.
  • Facilitate treasury management services and maintain banking relationships.
  • Prepare annual IRS wage reporting forms.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of the company endowment.
  • Participate in financial committee meetings with the Board of Directors.
  • Train and evaluate both new and existing accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in accounting management or supervisory roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, and various databases.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets across multiple accounts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
