ROLE SUMMARY

The Operations Management Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive support to all Project Operations Managers, ensuring the continuous enhancement and development of the Operations division.

This role guarantees adherence to established processes during the Operations Preparation and Execution phases of each project. Additionally, the Operations Management Lead ensures operational oversight during the Early Engagement and Tendering stages of the project lifecycle, including the formulation of process improvement strategies to facilitate effective engagement.

As a key team leader, the Operations Management Lead collaborates closely with the Operations Director to foster the growth of the Operations Department and promote a robust safety culture. This position champions the core values and objectives of Subsea 7, consistently communicating the importance of safety leadership to all team members by integrating safety considerations into equipment, procedures, and operational plans. The Operations Management Lead plays a vital role in team development, encouraging active participation in all growth initiatives.

All personnel are expected to contribute to fostering a positive Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture within Subsea 7, ensuring compliance with local HSEQ regulations and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Functional Oversight
    • Supervise Project Operations Managers, providing technical, commercial, and procedural guidance.
    • Oversee resource allocation for tenders and projects, including time management.
    • Facilitate Compass reviews, development, and training for Project Operations Managers.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure seamless delivery of project outputs and methodologies.
    • Assist in regional and global scheduling through optimization and scenario analysis.
    • Promote predictable performance and ownership of critical operational components.
    • Manage the Operations SharePoint site.
  • Early Engagement
    • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to ensure operational insights are integrated.
    • Support assessments and strategies for new country entries in conjunction with local operations management.
    • Assess the level of operational involvement required from offshore support teams.
    • Contribute to Greenhouse Gas Emissions studies and evaluate project impacts during execution.
  • Tender Management
    • Develop and enforce operational engagement protocols and deliverables for tenders, ensuring alignment with performance standards.
    • Oversee all tender processes from initiation to final submission, coordinating with Project Operations Managers as necessary.
    • Document and publish operational resource manhours for all tenders and pursuits.
  • Operations Preparation
    • Support projects as a Project Operations Manager when needed and mentor others on compliance with role responsibilities.
    • Participate in readiness assessments.
  • Operations Execution
    • Assist projects as a Project Operations Manager when required and mentor others on compliance with role responsibilities.
    • Coordinate the sequence of regional offshore operations, ensuring effective sequencing for optimal offshore performance.
    • Engage in daily progress calls with relevant teams to provide operational guidance.
    • Review daily offshore reports for consistency and input into regional schedules.
  • Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
    • Enhance project team awareness of company quality assurance and HSE protocols.
    • Champion health checks for vessels in collaboration with project teams and HSE.
    • Review incident reports and ensure necessary corrective actions are implemented.
  • Project Closure
    • Standardize operational closure processes, including debriefing sessions to capture key learnings post-project.
    • Ensure closure documentation is readily accessible via the Operations SharePoint site.
  • Operational Development and Enhancement
    • Assist the Operations Director in planning and executing strategies for operational excellence and project execution effectiveness.
    • Ensure improvement initiatives are balanced across operational resources.
    • Promote continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions.
    • Facilitate the sharing of lessons learned throughout the Operations department.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on performance feedback and incident analysis.
    • Collaborate with Group Operations to support global operational initiatives.
    • Drive innovation within the Operations framework.
AUTHORITY AND DIMENSIONS
  • Operate in accordance with the Subsea 7 Code of Conduct and relevant project charters.
  • Adhere to Subsea 7's Management Principles and Values.
  • Support the establishment of standards and procedures for the Operations Function.
