Position Overview:
As an Advanced Practice Nurse (NP), you will be required to hold a minimum of a master's degree in nursing or a nurse practitioner major, along with board certification from a VA-approved certifying authority.

Clinical Responsibilities:
In this role, you will possess clinical privileges that extend beyond basic educational qualifications, which are renewed biennially. As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), you will have the authority to prescribe medications and treatments while managing a panel of patients. Your core responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic health conditions.

Key Duties:
As an Advanced Practice Nurse, your duties will encompass:

  • Leading and organizing patient care delivery to ensure continuity and accountability, including access to care and discharge planning.
  • Utilizing advanced clinical knowledge to foster staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Functioning as a clinical expert, systematically assessing current practices and formulating outcomes for patient groups or organizational processes.
  • Guiding and supporting nursing staff from a leadership perspective, employing professional standards and scientific evidence to evaluate service activities.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • A post-master's certificate or a master's or doctoral degree in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the appropriate accrediting agency.
  • Active, unrestricted licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Current board certification in a clinical specialty from a recognized certifying body.

Work Environment:
This position operates within a structured schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with potential for flexible work arrangements as determined by supervisory discretion. Telework eligibility will be based on agency policy.
