Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our Crisis Response Team as a Medical Director. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical oversight and guidance to the Crisis Response Team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to established protocols.
  • Develop and implement operating protocols and best practices for crisis unit responders, focusing on behavioral and mental health crises, medical conditions, and chronic illnesses.
  • Coordinate with crisis unit responders as the base station prescriber and authorizer of medication and dosing for behavioral, mental, or non-emergency medical health medications.
  • Develop plans of care in conjunction with other practitioners involved in patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Lead a team of mobile crisis unit responders, providing medical oversight and guidance to ensure effective and efficient response to behavioral health crises.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development for crisis unit responders, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals and social workers to coordinate treatment recommendations and ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in team care planning and patient navigation to ensure safe transitions of care and long-term care attainment.
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments, diagnose and treat complex illnesses, and provide therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • Diagnose, treat, and arrange appropriate follow-up for patients to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical power of attorney, primary care providers, and all individuals involved in patient care.
  • Attend training sessions and clinical team meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in crisis response and behavioral health.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an advanced nursing education program accredited by a national nursing accreditation body recognized by the US Department of Education.
  • Five years of experience in acute care (ED, ICU, Internal Medicine).
  • Three years of behavioral health, mental health, and substance abuse nursing care.
  • Two years of leadership and management experience.
  • State of Washington Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license (active/unsanctioned).
  • Prescriptive authority per 21 U.S.C. Statute 823 (g)(2).
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Waivered Prescriber or ability to become waivered within 30-days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology, equipment, supplies, and materials used for medical treatment and care.
  • Knowledge of current patient privacy and medical records laws.
  • Adherence to clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of Washington State laws relating to nursing care, including RCW,,,,, and WAC.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Nurse Practice guidelines, Patient Bill of Rights, and clinical practice guidelines for patient care.
  • Understanding of community standards.
  • Experience and ability to comfortably work with patient populations suffering from substance use, behavioral health, and/or mental health disorders.
  • Understanding of EMS incident command structure.
  • Ability to lead clinical staff, including experience providing work direction, scheduling work, and staff performance management.
