Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing professional nursing services that focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a clinic setting, consistent with Common Spirit standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and Franciscan Medical Group's Scope of Practice policy.

An incumbent is engaged in direct patient care, including assessing, coordinating, triaging, evaluating, and delegating work to members of the patient care team. They provide education and consultation with patients, families, physicians, and other staff members to implement appropriate nursing interventions for optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver professional nursing care to clinic patients, perform diagnostic testing, and related clinical procedures to the appropriate level of training and scope of licensure and established procedures.
  • Administer patient medications per written provider order, track and log medication usage per established policies, and inventory counts of controlled substances.
  • Assist with point-of-care testing (CLIA-Waived Tests only) and lab tests following established protocols and instructions.
  • Document procedures and interactions in patient's electronic medical record in accordance with established procedures, enter, pend, and sign orders as appropriate.
  • Prepare patients for practitioner visits, room patients, obtain and record vital signs, and other relevant information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem.
  • Organize exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and re-stocking of supplies, prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments, and maintain related equipment.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrate proper use of communication tools and materials for effective communication and understand how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration, and the provision of care, treatment, and services.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • One year RN work experience in a clinic setting or two years of acute care RN work experience preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
