About the Role:

In alignment with our Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Safety & Security Officer is responsible for

providing protective services to all individuals and property within the Mount Carmel Health System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates Mount Carmel's Service Excellence Behavior Standards, holding oneself and others accountable while exemplifying excellence. This includes showing friendliness, effective communication, and providing top-tier service.
  • Meets population-specific and departmental competency requirements.
  • Fosters a Culture of Safety by adhering to policies and procedures designed to prevent workplace injuries, violence, or adverse outcomes for associates and patients.
  • Creates a caring and healing environment that prioritizes the patient and family experience throughout their journey at Mount Carmel, following our interdisciplinary care delivery principles.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certificate is required before assignment as an Armed Safety and Security Officer.
  • Experience: Three to five years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military roles, or equivalent training in criminal justice, homeland security, or law enforcement academy is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
