Job Responsibilities:

In alignment with our Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Safety & Security Officer is responsible for:

  • Providing protective services to all individuals and property within the Mount Carmel Health System.
  • Exemplifying Mount Carmel's Service Excellence Behavior Standards, holding oneself and others accountable while modeling excellence.
  • Meeting all competency requirements as per departmental standards.
  • Promoting a Culture of Safety by adhering to established policies and procedures aimed at preventing workplace injuries and ensuring a safe environment for associates and patients.
  • Creating a caring and healing atmosphere that places patients and families at the center of care throughout their experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certification is required prior to assignment.
  • Experience: Three to five years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service, or equivalent training in criminal justice or related fields is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
