Position Summary:

In alignment with our Mission and Guiding Principles, the Safety & Security Officer is responsible for

providing protective services to all individuals and property within the Mount Carmel Health System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards, holding oneself and others accountable while exemplifying excellence for all to observe. This includes displaying friendliness, effective communication, and providing exceptional service.
  • Meets all competency requirements specific to the population served and departmental standards.
  • Encourages a Culture of Safety by adhering to established policies, procedures, and plans designed to prevent workplace injuries, violence, or adverse outcomes for staff and patients.
  • Fosters Relationship-based Care by creating a nurturing and healing environment that places patients and families at the center of their care experience, following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery model.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must obtain the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certificate of completion prior to being assigned as an Armed Safety and Security Officer.
  • Experience: Preferred three to five years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service, or equivalent training in criminal justice, homeland security, or law enforcement academies.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
