Position Overview:

**Exciting Opportunity for a Lead Automotive Technician**

Compensation: $45.00 flag rate

Sun Auto Service is a growing automotive repair provider with multiple locations across Texas, dedicated to delivering comprehensive automotive repair and preventative maintenance services. Our team of ASE certified professionals is ready to assist with a variety of services, including alignments, brake repairs, oil changes, battery replacements, suspension work, and air conditioning services.

The Lead Automotive Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all repairs are executed accurately and efficiently by skilled technicians, while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction within the service department. This position involves diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles effectively, adhering to industry standards and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose vehicle issues based on experience and certifications.
  • Execute work as outlined in the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with precision and efficiency.
  • Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
  • Communicate technical diagnoses and necessary repairs to non-technical individuals, including management and customers.
  • Recommend essential services to maintain vehicle performance; document all recommendations accurately.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any concerns to management.
  • Maintain current ASE certifications and renew any expiring credentials.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
  • Proficient in using computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid and current driver's license.
  • Current ASE certifications are preferred.
  • Willingness to work a minimum of five days a week, including Saturdays.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

The Lead Automotive Technician will encounter moderate to loud noise levels, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, and other materials. The work environment may experience varying temperatures, including extreme heat or cold.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to stand for five hours daily and walk to access different areas.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for up to 10 hours per day; full range of motion with arms and hands is necessary.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to hear and speak clearly.
  • Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and refocus as needed.
