Job Summary

The Sheet Metal Mechanic position is a critical role within EMCOR Group, requiring a skilled individual to follow all safety rules and regulations while working as part of a team daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Layout sheet metal components, including ducts, hangers, and other structural elements.
  • Measure and mark dimensions for field installation, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Drill holes for screws, bolts, or rivets, and install sheet metal with supportive frameworks.
  • Field fabricate or alter parts to meet site requirements, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Sketch duct fittings and maneuver large sheet metal ducts and parts, showcasing mechanical aptitude.
  • Fasten joints of ducts together for a complete heating, cooling, and ventilation system, ensuring a high level of quality.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, demonstrating physical stamina and endurance.
  • Be responsible for enforcing safety rules and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Ability to guide other employees, if needed, showcasing leadership and mentorship skills.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • HVAC Sheet metal and installation experience, with a strong understanding of construction industry standards.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record, ensuring reliable transportation to job sites.
  • OSHA 10 Certifications desired, demonstrating a commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, showcasing spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and documentation, including federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
  • Ability to operate forklift and/or scissor lift, demonstrating mechanical aptitude and physical stamina.
Language Skills

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, ensuring clear and concise communication with colleagues and clients.
